This is a Mulan illustration I made for a collab honoring the International Women's Day. 50 Brazilian artists were invited to portray 50 strong female characters from fiction.

ABOUT this work: Originally I intended to draw Mulan doing something cool, like with her horse rearing up, but then I realized it would just feel wrong. Two of the main qualities that define Mulan, besides her courage, are her humility and humbleness. So I drew her on this "normal" stance instead, because that's how I felt I could capture the personality and qualities of hers that I admire so much.
Everything done with Photoshop CS6 and a Bamboo Fun Wacom tablet.
